MANDOLIN AND I

I am stood here hitch-hiking beneath
This Chiswick Motorway bridge
Dreaming of a World Peace to be
And my mandolin plays this timely tune
To hope we won't be lonesome soon

Shiny clean cars won't stop
Not for the likes of me
World Peace moves into another gear
Soon we've got to move on from here

How many ways, how many ways
The subtle lives intwine
Mandolin sing to me our song of tomorrow
How can we weave beyond these lines?

How to heal a hurt that's deep
In psyche of many-mannered man
New philosophy of old Earth
Mandolin sing to me

Proclaim to the sky such reasons
Things could move on from here
A love that's spoke is love to stoke
The dreams of this theme we dare.

40 ATOM BOMBS

I swallowed forty atom bombs
To see what it would do
Then we chose direction
All between the me and you
That was in all the only way
Through the flaming gap of doom
For I know that all you people
Never wished to die so soon

There are no words to describe
The visions we can see
In burning worlds of stars
That give birth to you and me
It is the seed love to the land
Earth's lost children listen in
Destiny is calling us
Mother Sky calls 'begin'

This is what we are my friends
Before eternity
This is what we are in all
This is you and me
The hands we have are made to hold
Our hearts made to be bold
This is what we is my friends
And so it shall unfold

We are all pilgrims
On this earth road
In Time and Space
Yet voyaging endlessly
Settling down
And moving on
Living, dying
Around the Suns

There are no frontiers
Can contain us
No nationality
That can restrain us
Only temperory homes
To shelter us
Upon the One Host
Of  Mother Earth
Blessed be Her name
May we respect Her
May She Remain

We are the troubadours
Finders who seek
Who vision a future
When all seems bleak
Look into the future
What do you see?
War and destruction
Or that rare liberty?

Here is hope to propel us
Equanimity
Put barriers down
Transcend to see
Take down the shield
Our weapons lay down
By the riverside
Beneath the Sun

VOICES OF A FUTURE
Political rhetoric I know it is all lies.
Double-speak duplicity, you can read it in the eyes.
See the silver plated squirming of the tongue.
Some sycophant, a corporate slave announces we will bomb.
You feed the World with little wars by selling tyrants arms.
As long as they are subservient, how could there be qualms?
Customers must not fight back. What happens when they do?
Spin a tale of right and wrong and gloss over the truth.
VISIONS AND VOICES OF A BETTER WORLD;
WAR NO MORE. VOICES OF A FUTURE SPEAK
Twisted lies from puppet lips. TV, papers spread the fear.
It's all sewn up, but listen in; Voices of a future are near.
As long as no-one knows, or doesn't dare to ask,
A silver tongue says what it likes. But voices; crack the mask.
Should these voices speak to you, do you think that you might hear?
And if these words might make a thread : Then know that hope is near.
Facades do not last for long. Tyrants fall. That's all.
Voices of a future speak and to us all they call
